The Hunt for the Ember Crown challenges heroes with exciting new adventures, taking them from the haunted mounds of the Barrow-downs to the far side of the Blue Mountains. Each adventure presents its own dangers, whether the ancient trees of the Old Forest, a long-standing grudge between the Dwarves and the Elves, or a vicious Orcish raiding party. Hunt for the Ember Crown is the first downloadable campaign available for purchase on the Journeys in Middle-earth companion app, offering a completely new set of quests and challenges that can be played using the contents of the Core Set. Featuring eleven new adventures and a deeply branching narrative that could lead you from the roads of. The new addition to the game will focus on the darker areas of Middle-earth such as the Mines of Moria and Mirkwood. The Shadowed Paths campaign includes 13 scenarios. The expansion will add in new heroes and enemies, terrain and items. This puts it more or less on par with the games other expansions Hunt for the Ember Crown and Eriador.
The Villains of Eriador Figure Pack features a set of three unpainted plastic miniatures for use with the soon-to-be released Journeys in Middle-earth game. Players can add these new villains to the app-driven game to introduce new challenges for their heroes to face.
The miniatures depict the villains Gulgotar, Atarin, and the worg Coalfang. The set also includes six new trinket cards and three new title cards to give players a hand. MSRP is $14.95.
The new components can be used with the Bones of Arnor campaign in the base game set or with the new Hunt for the Ember Crown campaign, which will be available for download in the third quarter.
Many of Fantasy Flight's games are accentuated with an app that enhances your gaming experience. One nice thing about doing that is Fantasy Flight can then release new adventures as downloads for said app. Though they're going a step further with the Hunt for the Ember Crown adventure for Journeys in Middle-earth, as they've also got a Villains of Eriador Figure Pack that you can get to go along with it.
